我是余沁薇，出生於台北市，家中成員簡單，除了我與父母之外，同時還有一位弟弟。父親從事電腦軟體業，母親則是從銀行業退休，由於父母親非常重視子女的教育，因此除了學校的課業之外，對於子女的人際關係與才藝也多所注重，也由於父母的開明教育方式，培養出我獨立負責的個性。 
我的個性活潑外向，在求過程中尚屬順利，父母非常尊重我的想法，讓我選擇自己喜歡的科系就讀，在這個領域中發揮所長。由於個性使然，喜歡學習研究新事物和挑戰不同領域的知識，因此每每有新的學習機會，我都會勇於學習與嘗試，並從中學到不少的經驗。學生時代對於英文以及文學相當有興趣，因此積極爭取推薦入學，也因為強烈的興趣讓我順利甄試上台大外文系。在大學求學時代，除了第二外語法文外，還曾到校外另修日文兩年，以及法文三年。由於對於商業科系也有濃厚興趣，從大二開始選修經濟系以及工管系的課程，不同的學習領域令我獲益匪淺。
而後順利申請到英國華威大學就讀英國文學(電腦化托福成績253分)，目前已經完成所有學業。 在國外的生活讓我學會寶貴的獨立經驗，也對於英文能力有極大的幫助，再則接觸到形形色色的人種，發現到與，外界溝通的重要性，而其中個性的是一大關鍵，因此下定決心要回到台灣的工作崗位轉換跑道，以自己的語言優勢加以工作時的後天努力學習,希望能夠再闖初一番天地。 
無論是英文的專業背景及商業的多面知識，我都有自信能以既有的知識以及高度的興趣來勝任這份工作。 我是個很能跟不熟識的人談笑風生的人，也能夠適時察言觀色。 曾經在速食業以及電腦公司打過工的我，很了解虛心融入環境的重要性。 再者， 國外的生活給了我相當的國際觀以及培養抗壓性的機會。最後，求學時期長期研讀各類書籍報章，無論是課內或是課外，本國抑或外國文化，我對於文字都有相當的敏感度。不只是文學性的書報，生活中其他重要領域如企管，金融，政治，藝文，社會等等重要資訊來源，我都秉著高度的求知慾以及消化能力來吸收並加以運用。大學時期我就曾花了三年時光於本科系課業外修習他系課程 (工管系企管組，經濟系，以及戲劇系的選修與必修課程)，以及於他校或補習班修習日文和法文。另外也曾在求學階段擔任國小及國高中英文家教。相信這些經驗以及學習的熱誠是擔任這份工作者所需具備的重要條件.

I am Chin-Wei Yu (Carrie). Born in Taipei, I have one younger brother besides my parents. My father works in a computer-related company while my mother is recently retired. Since my parents value strongly the importance of education, they provide for me good learning opportunities both at school and off campus.  Therefore, I have begun learning English as early as when I was 10 years of age. Also, I owe my easygoing and conscientious personality to the good upbringing I had.

As a result, I was free to choose what I would like to study in my university years. My parents readily accepted my keen interest in English literature when I passed the recommendation exam held by the department of foreign languages and literatures of National Taiwan University. I was overwhelmed by this result since I have shown strong inclination in studying literature (especially English and American literature).  In my university years, I have chosen French as my second foreign language. I was so dedicated to learning French that not only had I attend the French class for three years on campus but studied off campus (at the French centre at National Normal University).  I deeply enjoyed learning French (the language itself, literature, culture, etc); therefore, I performed excellently in all French-related courses.

Besides literature, I took great interest in various fields such as drama, finance, and economics.  I had attended several courses in the department of drama, economics, as well as industrial engineering.  I have gained enormously from these valueless experiences.

Literature remained my focus of study. In the year 2002, I accepted the offer of MA programme in English literature by the University of Warwick in the UK. During the one-year programme, not only have I learned more about English literature (feminism, psychoanalysis, queer study, Victorian literature, modes of masculinity in Renaissance poetry, etc), I also learned how to cope with such delicate situations as racial issue, cultural difference, and so on. I learned to be more independent and considerate.  My ability to cooperate with others (especially in foreign countries) was enhanced as I tried to fit into such a conservative environment as Coventry (the city near where I studied).

After much consideration, I decided to go back to Taiwan and become part of the workforce.  I wish to incorporate what I have learned as useful tools in the process of applying.  Also, my strong will to learn and quickness in realising appointed jobs, I believe, will facilitate my application.
